New situation creates favourable conditions for Hungarians considering returning home!
Those who want to build their careers abroad, whether as an employee or a student, usually leave the country for a medium term, for 1-3-5 years. During the last years, changes have started in the Hungarian labour market that, according to an initiative, could create favourable conditions for Hungarians considering returning home.
It can be observed that people with experience abroad can assert themselves faster. However, there are also differences between countries. Furthermore, within a given country, there are also quality differences, either between educational institutions and companies, that are already known to domestic employers. The question arises as to how Hungarians living abroad can find out about the constantly changing domestic and international market, writes 24.hu.
In order to collect and discuss such and similar information, the Compass-Plus Labour Market Analyst and Dissemination Foundation was established by the two founders of the personnel consulting office of MP Solutions Kft., with the support of Bethlen GĂ¡bor AlapkezelÅ‘ Zrt.
Their initiative aims to attract talent living or studying abroad, to present government incentives and subsidies, to offer programs promoting industries, and to support investment promotion activities to foreign companies.
All this in an understandable and inspiring way that both employees and employers can learn from, such as the constantly updated online knowledge base, the events, or the already launched “Reboot Home- That’s why it’s worth moving home to Hungary” roundtable discussions and presentations, – explained DĂ¡vid Pelle, the managing director of the personnel consulting company with about 20 years of experience.
According to him, Hungary is positioned towards higher value-added knowledge in terms of the workforce. Compared to other markets, this is a factor that can keep the country at a competitive advantage due to, among other things, the country’s central location, cultural opportunities, still better value for money and infrastructure at European level. According to the expert, the technology market, the financial market and the service centre market have changed the most. With the help of these sectors, hundreds of new job opportunities will open up in Hungary, which will no longer be the classic service activity, but high-quality, value-added positions.
According to him, it is also an important aspect that Hungary also has the opportunity to participate in foreign practices and projects, as many companies operate subsidiaries in Budapest or entrust the central functions and management of a given pillar to the Hungarian office. This requires that, in addition to adequate language skills, the employee also has the necessary skills and competencies.
As a result of such trends, there are and will be opportunities for career-building internationally. At the same time, it is to be expected that this will increase competition and fairs. In essence, the challenges, the international work environment and good practices are also available to employees from home.
Not to mention that, thanks to teleworking and home office, Hungarians living in other countries can also fill a job at home by taking advantage of the work and life experiences gained abroad.
The view that the most effective form of recruitment is the successful retention of existing colleagues is not new. However, this can be further concretised by the fact that the corporate culture has also started to develop in many places. According to him, managers treat employees differently, ask for feedback more often, involve them more in processes, and generally work more flexibly.
Besides, places have already appeared where employees can work in Budapest with similar technology and in a similar spirit as in Western Europe or even in Silicon Valley.
